News Article - 2013 Hawkesbury Champs

Another great day competing the beautiful Lets Reminisce owners by Penny and Pat Barrett at the Hawkesbury Dressage Championships.

In a high class field, Lets Reminisce won the 3D with a whopping 75.3% and came 3rd in the 3C with 67.7%. The combination of the two score meant that we also won the Elementary Champion.

But the awards didn't stop there!!! Because of our efforts in the 3D, we also won the June Smyth-King award for the highest percentage in an Elementary test. It was really special winning this award as June herself battled cancer and as i have recently had my own cancer battle it is an honour to be awarded this award.

Unfortunately on the following day, Flowervale Florenz and I did not have the same luck as the weather decided to turn nasty. So we ended up turning it into a training day as his three biggest fears, rain, flowing water and puddles prevented us from entering the arena within the 60 seconds permitted after the bell and so we were eliminated.

A big thank you to the judges who allowed me to still ride around and get him familiar with these conditions. A big learning curve for Flowervale Florenz today but nothing that he couldn't overcome as is typical for this amazing boy!!!
